Arsenal Ladies’ Linda Whitehead was one of 150 volunteers invited to Buckingham Palace on Monday to be honoured as part of the Football Association’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
The event, which was hosted by HRH The Duke of Cambridge, sought to recognise the volunteers for their outstanding contribution and service to football.
Linda has been an indispensible part of the Arsenal Ladies setup for more than a decade, helping to organise fixtures at home and abroad and acting as an ever present source of support to the coaches and playing staff.
Arsenal Ladies General Manager Vic Akers, who has worked alongside Linda since her arrival, said: “I’d like to congratulate Linda on behalf of everyone at the Club for this very special achievement. She’s contributed so much to the team and the women’s game as a whole over the years. No none could be more deserving of this honour.”
