We had three first-team players in senior action for their countries on Thursday evening, while a fourth was involved at under-21 level.
Scroll down to find out how our international stars fared:
Alexis completed 90 minutes and hit the crossbar in Chile’s 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat against Argentina. The forward’s second-half free-kick rattled off the frame of the goal as La Roja failed to cancel out Lionel Messi’s 16th-minute penalty in Buenos Aires.
David Ospina played the full 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet in Colombia’s 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Bolivia in Barranquilla. Carlos Lampe denied James Rodriguez from the spot, but the playmaker followed up in the 83rd minute to secure a vital win on Colombia’s road to Russia 2018.
Alex Iwobi played the first hour of Nigeria’s friendly draw against Senegal in Barnet. Moussa Sow opened the scoring just after half-time but Kelechi Iheanacho equalised from the spot with just seven minutes to go at The Hive.
Hector was an unused substitute for Spain Under-21s during their convincing 3-1 win over Denmark. Andrew Hjulsager gave the visitors the lead, but goals from Mikel Merino, Saul Niguez and Denis Suarez and saw Spain come from behind to claim the victory.
