Pedro Martinez Losa reacted to Arsenal Ladies' goalless draw against Birmingham City in the Women's Super League. Below is a transcript of what he said:
on the draw…
I think it was a very competitive game. We knew the difficulty that Birmingham would give us. They have a confidence and they haven’t lost in six games. I think in the second half we deserved a little more, but in football everything happens. I’m happy with the intensity, but we have to also consider that they didn’t play on Sunday, and we have to play on Saturday this weekend.
In my opinion, I can’t understand it. It is something we have to accept. Three games in six days, and now we have another difficult challenge on Saturday which we have to be ready for. From the point of view of injuries, it is really difficult.
on Oshoala’s chance..
She had a good opportunity one v one and I think it was probably a clear handball in the box, but we never complained. The referee decides what he decides, so we accept that. It is part of the game. I’m happy with the effort from the players and that we were creating chances. We are ready to improve for Saturday.
on the league…
The aim is for us to be top of the table in every competition. We won the FA Cup, now we are in the league competing at the very best level. We saw the other day Man City drew at home, so we have now taken a point. This point could be positive or negative, we will see with the other results.
