Pedro Martinez Losa says Jordan Nobbs is a “symbol of Arsenal Ladies’ future".
The England midfielder signed a new contract on Tuesday after helping the Gunners lift 10 major trophies in six years, including scoring two goals in last season’s Continental Cup final.
Losa is delighted Nobbs has agreed to extend her stay in north London, and believes she can drive the team to greater success over the coming years.
"She is a very important player for us and we are looking more at the future than the past. But her loyalty to the club and her feeling for Arsenal is really important"
“Jordan is a very important player for us and one of our key players offensively,” Losa told Arsenal Player.
“She has a lot to learn and she has incredible potential. What she is showing now is more than enough to show that that she can be our symbol of the future. We are very happy - if she is happy, we are happy. That is the most important thing. We want to keep this energy for some time.
“She learned from players like Kelly Smith and Kim Little at a time when they were playing Champions League. She got a lot from the competitiveness and playing at the top level with top players in the world.
“After that, she showed her loyalty to the club as she probably had opportunities to go to any other club. She was pushing the project for the future and was helping us shape it for the future and we are very grateful for that, as in some moments it was not easy. She is probably in one of the best moments in her career.
“She is vice captain for England Lionesses, she is a very important player for us and we are looking more at the future than the past. But her loyalty to the club and her feeling for Arsenal is really important.
“The club loves the players and the players need to know that. The players feel very welcome here and they are very important parts of the project. The club at the same time needs to know we have the right characters and we have a winning mentality and we are willing to give more than they receive.
“We can receive big rewards in the future and especially players like Jordan Nobbs who can show us those values. For the future, she will be one of those players that others go to so they can learn the Arsenal way and how we operate at this club.”
