Rachel Yankey believes Arsenal Ladies must be ambitious next season as they look to compete on three fronts.
The midfielder is entering her 11th consecutive campaign with the Gunners and is desperate to add even more silverware to her trophy haul.
Yankey believes a good pre-season will be the key to success in the new campaign as it ensures that the squad hits the ground running.
"The team needs to be fighting fit and striving to go out there"
“We have all identified that some of the pre-season games last year were not of a high enough standard and that needs to change as that is the time you are getting your fitness in, getting you game time and we need to play against tough teams,” she told Arsenal.com.
"I think we just need to make sure we have a good pre-season and start getting used to how each other plays and build confidence. I don’t think we are far away from other teams, we just need to make sure we educate others in the way we play so we can hurt other teams.
“It doesn’t always go down to the set-up and coaches and stuff like that. The players' mentality needs to be switched on straight away. We need to make sure we do that. The team needs to be fighting fit and striving to go out there. Every time I have played for Arsenal the goal has been the treble.
“It will be the same this year and we need to be big and brave enough to go forward, whether we do or don’t who knows. We should aim for that."
