Cech - The difference in the big games

Petr Cech says Arsenal must get all the “little details” right when they face Manchester City on Monday night.

The Gunners go into the match at Emirates Stadium one point ahead of Manuel Pellegrini’s side in the Premier League table.

Cech says it is a big opportunity for Arsenal to stretch their lead against a fellow title contender - as long as they play to their full potential.

“We go into the game very close in the table so if we win we will obviously open the gap between ourselves and City, but they can go two points ahead,” he told Arsenal Player.

“So it is a big game for both teams, because as long as Leicester keep winning you don’t want the gap to open up too much, you want to make sure that the moment they slip you are ready to take advantage.

“All the little details in big games count. You can have a great game but get a little detail wrong and end up losing. It is as well a little bit about luck - you can hit the post three times and then you concede a deflected shot that you can’t do anything about.

“But it is about little details. These types of games you win by team effort, so obviously all the individuals need to play well, but as a team you have a chance to get things right and to win the game.”
