Arsene Wenger says he always knew that Joel Campbell had the attributes to succeed at Arsenal.
The winger scored his first Premier League goal in a convincing display during the 3-0 win at Swansea on Saturday.
Wenger believes that the amount of chances Campbell was involved in against the Swans underlines his talent.
"I never let him go as I feel he is a good player and on top of that he is a team player"
“He had to wait, to be patient, to get a chance and he was always on the waiting list,” the manager told Arsenal Player. “He got through a few countries but he is still very young and I never let him go as I feel he is a good player and on top of that he is a team player.
“Today he scored one but he could have scored more so that is something very interesting. You see when he has good players around him he is a good player.”
Wenger also singled out Hector Bellerin for praise and thinks that the defender has developed his defensive qualities since breaking into the first team last year.
"He made big tackles,” he said. “He is getting better defensively. Hector was always known as a offensive player and we becomes now a complete defender and keeps his forward qualities.”
