'We lost one battle but not the war’

By Lloyd Webb

Pedro Martinez Losa insists his side’s Women’s Super League title chances are not over despite Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester City.

Arsenal Ladies are two points off league leaders Chelsea with four games to play, and face their London rivals next.

Losa is confident his side will bounce back from the defeat, and can still end the season with silverware.

"We are still in one of the best positions to be at the top of the table at the end"

“The players gave 100 per cent effort and I think we have to learn from this one - we lost one battle but we did not lose the war,” the manager told Arsenal.com.

“We are still in one of the best positions to be at the top of the table at the end.

“We need to realise that every team is going to be competitive and it depends on how competitive we can be.”

With the likes of Kelly Smith and Leah Williamson still not available, Losa believes the side will be stronger they can call on all of their players.

“I think sometimes it is not what is wrong but what is right,” he said. “[Manchester City] gave a good level, they are coming from a good dynamic, and they have their best starting line-up and a strong roster.

"As soon as we have the players back and healthy, I think we can be more competitive."
