Arsenal will face PSV Eindhoven in the final of the 2015 Durban Under-19 Tournament at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
The young Gunners beat Stuttgart 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw to secure a place in the competition’s decider against the Dutch side.
Yassin Fortune gave Arsenal the lead before Berkay Ozcan equalised to take the game to a penalty shoot-out. Ryan Huddart saved twice before Gedion Zelalem coolly rolled his spot-kick into the bottom corner to beat the German side.
Steve Gatting’s side now face PSV at the 2010 World Cup final stadium on Saturday after the Dutch side won 2-1 against a South Africa Select XI in Wednesday’s other semi-final.
Speaking after the Stuttgart game, Huddart said: “I knew that I had to step up from my performance in the first game to try to put myself in the frame for the final.
“I’d like to say I was consistent throughout the game and I was pleased with my performance this time around.
“We’re going to be playing at a world-class stadium in the final and, like all the players in the dressing room, I’m really looking forward to playing there and hopefully winning the competition.”
