Wilshere on victory, Alexis and the fans

Jack Wilshere spoke to Arsenal Media after helping Arsenal to win the FA Cup. This is what he said:

on his emotions…
It’s a bit different from last year. I thought we controlled the game the whole way through and never looked like losing, so we could enjoy it a bit more and get ready for the celebrations. There wasn’t the pressure of not winning a trophy this year. We won it last year, we retained it this year and we can take it in a lot more this time.

on the performance…
From the minute go, Francis was brilliant and the midfield dominated. Once we got on top of their midfield, with Theo’s pace and Alexis’ trickery, we were going to create chances and we did that.

on Alexis’ goal…
He likes to score at Wembley. I remember when we played at Chile and we lost, he scored both goals. He scored in the [semi-final] and he scored today, so happy days.

on the fans…
They were tremendous the whole way through. I think they feel the pressure a little bit more than us but today they were brilliant again and they’re going to enjoy it with us tomorrow as well.
