Arsene Wenger says Yaya Sanogo can demonstrate his potential while on loan at Crystal Palace.
The Arsenal striker broke his duck for the Gunners this season with a Champions League goal against Borussia Dortmund, but has now headed across London in search of further first-team opportunities.
The likes of Alexis, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck are blocking Sanogo's route to the Arsenal side and Wenger believes the next four months could be decisive for the France Under-21 international.
"I think he’s ready - it’s a very interesting challenge for him to have that responsibility. It’s part of the development of the player"
"Look, Sanogo needs to play," Wenger told Arsenal Player.
"For me, he needs to play in the Premier League. Then we’ll know much more about him. I think he’s ready - it’s a very interesting challenge for him to have that responsibility. It’s part of the development of the player."
Benik Afobe also left Arsenal this week, but his move to Wolves was a permanent one after a hugely-impressive loan spell with MK Dons. Afobe scored 19 goals in 30 appearances for the League One club and will now try his luck in the Championship.
"Benik has made a name through his performances and he is now rewarded with a move to Wolves," said Wenger.
"I believe that it’s very interesting for him as well. He deserves it. We like him very much here and I’m happy that he got the chance."
