Olivier Giroud is eagerly anticipating his battle with Vincent Kompany on Sunday - even if he is one of his toughest opponents.
The France international scored against Manchester City in the Community Shield, and is expected to lead the line for Arsenal at Etihad Stadium.
"He’s really powerful, he’s always anticipating, he’s clever and he’s a really good defender"
The 28-year-old is looking forward to the game, but acknowledges that he will have to be at his best to get the better of the Belgium international.
“I think that Kompany is really hard to play against,” Giroud told Arsenal.com.
“He’s really powerful, he’s always anticipating, he’s clever and he’s a really good defender.
“[Whether he is] the best in the world, I don’t know, but he’s definitely tough to play against.”
