Imperial Bank, the official debit card partner of Arsenal in Kenya and Uganda, recently received recognition for the campaigns they have produced in partnership with the club, at the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) Gala Awards 2014.
The MSK Gala Awards is the biggest marketing event in the region, recognising the most outstanding and impactful campaigns across various industries.
With more than 140 entries and 14 different categories, the competition this year was tougher than ever. Imperial Bank came out as a headline winner after scooping the awards for Best Loyalty Program Marketing and Best Sports Marketing Campaign.
In the first year of their partnership with the club, Imperial Bank offered exclusive Arsenal promotions and rewards that customers could redeem by accumulating Gunner loyalty points using their club-branded debit cards.
Furthermore, as part of their Arsenal Fan Experience campaign, Imperial Bank Arsenal debit card holders had the opportunity to enter a competition to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to watch Arsenal take on Manchester City at Emirates Stadium in March 2014.
Imperial Bank also used their partnership with Arsenal to develop grassroots football in Kenya. In April 2014, two Arsenal Soccer Schools coaches visited Nairobi to train children with an emphasis on how to play football the Arsenal way.
