Mesut Ozil says the key to scoring his first goal of the season was staying "ice-cold".
The Germany international opened the scoring at Villa Park, slotting past Brad Guzan after latching onto Danny Welbeck's piercing through-ball.
"When you analyse [Welbeck's] game, you notice that he makes a lot of runs and knows where he needs to be. We're pleased to have a striker like him here"
Ozil and Welbeck combined to devastating effect at Villa Park. Ozil was delighted both to score himself and to set up Welbeck's first Arsenal goal.
"I think when you assess [Welbeck's] pass, it was really well timed," Ozil told Arsenal Player.
"He saw me and played me through to finish. I didn't have to do that much because I was one-on-one against the goalkeeper and made sure that I stayed ice-cold in front of goal - that was that.
"When you analyse [Welbeck's] game, you notice that he makes a lot of runs and knows where he needs to be. We're pleased to have a striker like him here. He makes the game simpler for us through his runs and speed.
"[On Saturday] he proved again that he is very dangerous in front of goal and personally, I'm happy for him because in recent games, he missed a few chances. Things worked really well for him on Saturday and that's why I'm pleased for him."
