Gnabry - Big characters have lifted team

Serge Gnabry has revealed that the most experienced members of the Arsenal squad have helped lift spirits ahead of the Manchester City game.

The Gunners head into the match on the back of a heavy defeat to Chelsea and a frustrating 2-2 draw against Swansea City on Tuesday night.

Despite his disappointment, Gnabry is keen to move on now and says the squad have been inspired by some key figures.

"We have a lot of big characters like Per, Mikel, Tommy the captain - there are a lot of people talking in the team"

“The most important thing is to pick yourself up straight away, because you can’t go into a game against Manchester City with a bad attitude, fear or anything like that,” he told Arsenal Player.

“You face up to the next game and try to do your best to win it.

“We have a lot of big characters like Per, Mikel, Tommy the captain - there are a lot of people talking in the team.

“They’re helping us out. They have a lot of experience and have been playing at the top level for years so they know what it takes. They are helping the team get their heads up to face the next match.

“We just have to play our game, use our strengths which is a good passing game. Anything can happen. We have a really good team and we have got a lot of opportunities to stop them.”
