Arsene Wenger is confident Arsenal can produce another strong finish to a Premier League season.
The Gunners suffered a disappointing defeat to Stoke City on Saturday which leaves them four points behind leaders Chelsea with 10 games remaining.
Almost a year to the day, Wenger's side lost 2-1 at Tottenham and their chances of finishing in the top four looked slim. But they went unbeaten until the end of the season to finish above their north London rivals and the Frenchman believes his team can produce a similar run this year.
"Our end of season has always been very strong"
"Look at our results in the crucial points of the season and you will be surprised," Wenger said. "Somebody says something that is not checked at all and everybody repeats it and it becomes an opinion even if the facts don't show it.
"Our end of season has always been very strong."
Arsenal struggled to create clear-cut chances at the Britannia Stadium and Wenger admits his side need to improve in the final third.
"I feel offensively we didn't perform well enough," he said. "We lost too many balls. In the second half we had much more possession and we needed to be patient. This kind of game was [about] not to make a mistake and wait for a good chance and take it.
"In the first half we had some good opportunities where we didn't make the right decisions and chose to take chances... and in the end we got punished."
