Arsene Wenger says that leading the Premier League comes with a "positive pressure".

Arsenal face Manchester City on Saturday lunchtime safe in the knowledge that victory at Etihad Stadium would, temporarily at least, open up an eight-point gap at the top of the table.

Wenger was pleased to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League on Wednesday night and is now focusing his attention on domestic affairs.

“It is a positive pressure,” he told Arsenal Player. “It is always a pressure as you want to do well and be the best, but it is positive.

“We have a cushion, we are not really under massive pressure. We have an opportunity to show our strength and that is what we want to take.

“I don't see why you should be scared. Last season when we went to Newcastle on the last day and we had absolutely to win you could think, ‘If we don't win, it will be a disaster'. Today we are in a position where we can look much more at the game in a positive way.
