Laurent Koscielny says the Arsenal players are well aware of how important Champions League football is for the Club.
Koscielny was the matchwinner on Tyneside, acrobatically hooking home from close range to seal fourth place and a 16th consecutive season in Europe’s premier competition.
Arsene Wenger’s team had to wait until the final day of last season before booking their place in the Champions League and Koscielny drew comparisons with that victory at West Bromwich Albion.
“We are happy to finish the last game with a win,” he said. “It is very important for the Club to be in the Champions League.
“It was like last year. This goal was important. The team played well and gave themselves for the team. We are all good players and we want to play Champions League. It is a big competition. We did the job and we are happy.”
