‘Good run will earn us top-four finish’

Carl Jenkinson is confident Arsenal will finish in the top four this season - providing they embark on a consistent run of form in their last 10 games.

Arsene Wenger’s side are five points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea and a further two behind Tottenham Hotspur.

Jenkinson admits he has studied the run in, but is aware that the team must concentrate on their own games first.

“There are two teams to chase and I don't think we can get too caught up in how they’re doing,” he told Arsenal Player.

“If we go on a good run now, we’ll finish in the top four. I’m sure of that. If you look at Tottenham’s run in, it’s quite difficult. They’ve got some difficult games so we’re going to hope that they drop points.

“If we focus on what we’ve got to do, I think it will take care of itself.

“It’s in all the news [the run in]. It’s on Sky Sports News so you can’t really miss it. You see things like that and you would say that Tottenham have a more difficult run in than us.

“At this stage of the season, every game is difficult. The teams who are lower down in the table are fighting to stay up. At the back end of the season, there’s no easy games so in some senses you can’t always read too much into that.”
