Mehmet Ali described Friday night’s 4-2 win away to Chelsea under-21s as a really good advert for u21s football.
“I thought it was a really good advert for under-21s football from two good footballing sides, both teams going toe to toe. It was really entertaining,” he said.
“From my perspective or our perspective as a group of staff we wanted to have a bit more control in the game because it could’ve been 5-5 at half-time.
“We had Karl [Hein] in goal and he made some excellent saves for us and also some of our play in some of the areas we got into was excellent this evening.
“I felt we always looked a threat on transition because of how well we pressed high up the pitch and we had moments of some really good play out from the back into good areas, so a really entertaining game and in the second half we had little bit more about us, kept going for them, got into good areas and got our reward.”
