Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema have been shortlisted for the 2022 Ballon d'Or Feminin.
Our strikers are two of 20 players on the 2021/22 shortlist, following immense seasons for both club and country.
Mead had a career-best WSL season as she registered 11 goals, eight assists, and a staggering 72 chances – over 20 more than anyone else in the league. She then capped her summer off at the UEFA Women’s Euros with the Golden Boot and the Player of the Tournament award, as England’s Lionesses strode to victory at Wembley. This is her first Ballon d'Or nomination.
Meanwhile, this is Vivianne Miedema's third Ballon d'Or nomination. She had another stellar season for the Gunners, notching up 14 goals and eight assists, making her our top goalscorer for the fourth year running. The Dutch striker signed a new contract with us earlier this summer.
Elsewhere in the shortlist, Bukayo Saka was nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the second year running.
