Katie McCabe’s scorching strike against Manchester City has been voted by our supporters as our Goal of the Month for April.
Katie’s strike received 63 per cent of the vote, with Martin Odegaard’s volley at West Ham United and Granit Xhaka’s header against Leeds United coming in second and third respectively.
McCabe’s big moment came in the 74th minute of our game against City at Meadow Park. Having trailed 1-0 at the break, Frida Maanum had equalised before she played a short corner to the Republic of Ireland captain.
Taking a touch to get her just inside the box, Katie drove a left-footed shot into the top corner, well out of the reach of the visiting goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck to complete our comeback.
That effort has also been handed the Women's Super League Goal of the Month for April.
