Maanum: "We want to win that cup again"

After a confident victory over Aston Villa sent us through to another Conti Cup final, Frida Maanum shared her thoughts on the performance and our chances at silverware.

The 24-year-old Norwegian earned her first start since February's FA Cup fixture against Man City and made quite an impression, contributing a goal and an assist in the win.

"It was a great first half," said Maanum, after the full-time whistle. "We scored a lot of goals and for Stina to get the hat trick as well, it's nice. And obviously, it was a different second half, but I think we should take a lot from the first half."

As for her own goal, a spectacular looping effort from outside the box, Maanum was happy to get involved in the flurry of first-half goals.

"It felt nice. It was a great ball from Beth and then it was just about trying to get it in the far corner. And I did that!"

Maanum's partnerships with Beth Mead and Stina Blackstenius were instrumental in that dominant first-half display.

"We played a lot together last season as well, so we just tried to build from that. I think it worked well today."

Our squad now awaits the outcome of Chelsea and Man City's semi-final on Thursday evening to see who they'll face in the Conti Cup final.

"It was great to win it last season. It was a great occasion and we'll see who we play tomorrow, but we just want to win that cup again.

"We won the last game against Chelsea and we just want to keep going from there. I think we're in a good place right now."
