Loan Watch: Tierney makes impact for Sociedad

Kieran Tierney came off the bench at half-time and helped Real Sociedad to a 3-2 win away to Granada on Saturday.

Providing the assist for the equalising goal with a cross into the box for Robin Le Normand, Kieran’s contribution helped Sociedad climb to sixth in La Liga.

They now occupy the division’s UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying spot with 28 games played.

In said competition, Mika Biereth played 64 minutes of SK Sturm Graz’s 3-0 defeat at home to LOSC Lille in the round of 16 first leg on Thursday night.

He went on to feature for another 78 minutes in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at TSV Hartberg, which left Sturm Graz second in the Austrian Bundesliga, four points behind Red Bull Salzburg.

In the Football League, Millwall are now 16th in the Championship, four points above the relegation zone, after picking up four points from six last week.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy came on in the 75th and 92nd minutes respectively of Tuesday’s 1-1 draw away to Blackburn Rovers and Saturday’s 1-0 win at home to Birmingham City.

Swansea City are also four points above the drop zone after Sunday’s 1-0 loss at Bristol City, which Charlie Patino was an unused substitute for, having come in in the 81st minute of Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Watford.

Still fighting for promotion to League One, Arthur Okonkwo played 90 minutes for Wrexham on Saturday as they won 3-1 away to Morecambe to go third in League Two, level on points with second-placed Stockport County and three behind leaders Mansfield Town.

In the Vanarama National League, Bromley are third and two points behind Barnet following Tuesday’s 0-0 draw away to Oldham Athletic. Alex Kirk played 90 minutes of that match as well as 90 minutes of Saturday’s 2-0 win at home to Barnet in the quarter-final of the Isuzu FA Trophy.

As for women’s football, Ruby Doe got on the scoresheet, albeit with a late consolation, as Ipswich Town were beaten 4-2 by league leaders Portsmouth on Sunday. Ipswich are now fourth in FA WPL Premier Division South.

In the Primera Division, Madrid CFF are also fourth after losing 2-1 at home to SD Eibar on Saturday, Gio Queiroz playing 90 minutes of the match.

Last but not least, Kathrine Kuhl got 72 minutes under her belt for Everton as they were beaten 1-0 at home to Chelsea in the quarter-final of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on the weekend.
