Loan Watch: Doe nets brace for Ipswich

Ruby Doe scored twice in Ipswich Town Women’s big 6-1 win away to London Bees on Sunday.

In men’s football, Nuno Tavares got a total of 176 minutes across Nottingham Forest’s double-header last week.

They won 3-2 at Blackpool in their Emirates FA Cup third round replay to set up a fourth round tie away to Bristol City.

In the Premier League, Forest lost 3-2 at Brentford and are now 16th, four points above the relegation zone.

In La Liga, it was a positive weekend for Real Sociedad, who won 1-0 away to Celta Vigo to stay sixth and six points off the top four.

Kieran Tierney came on in the 39th minute of the match, having contributed to the team’s clean sheet in Wednesday’s 2-0 win away to CA Osasuna in the Copa del Rey round of 16.

It was a disappointing weekend for our loanees in the Championship, Charlie Patino and Brooke Norton-Cuffy both suffering defeats with Swansea City (16th) and Millwall (18th) respectively.

Charlie came on in the 65th minute as Swansea lost 3-1 at home to Southampton, while Brooke came off in the 67th minute of Millwall 2-0 defeat away to Queens Park Rangers.

One tier below, Tyreece John-Jules played 86 minutes of Derby County’s 3-2 win at home to Burton Albion on Monday before coming on in the 67th minute of Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Lincoln City.

The Rams are third in League One, three points behind leaders Portsmouth but with a game in hand.

Over in Romania, FC Rapid București are third in the SuperLiga, eight points behind leaders FCSB after Friday’s 4-3 win at home to U Craiova 1948, which Catalin Cirjan played 60 minutes of.

Wrexham’s run of positive results came to an end with a 1-0 loss away to Newport County on Saturday, Arthur Okonkwo between the sticks for that game. Wrexham are second in League Two, two points behind Stockport County.

Last but not least, there was a 90-minute appearance for Alex Kirk at Bromley, who drew 2-2 at home to Boreham Wood on Saturday.

Bromley are second in the Vanarama National League South, 11 points behind leaders Chesterfield, who have two games in hand.
