Loan watch: Agyemang's brace, Norton-Cuffy scores

Michelle Agyemang warms up for Arsenal at Meadow Park

Plenty of our loanees were in action this week, as we draw closer to Christmas.

In only her second game back from injury, Michelle Agyemang bagged a brace and an assist for Watford Women in their thrilling 3-3 draw with London City Lionesses.

It was a dream start for the Hornets as Agyemang scored two goals in two minutes before topping it off with an assist - all before 10 minutes had been played in the Women's Championship derby.

The Lionesses rallied, however, and Lucy Fitzgerald completed the comeback in the 91st minute, stealing a point. Katie Reid and Laila Harbert were also involved for Watford, playing the full match.

Our young Gunners will face our women’s first team on January 14, after we were drawn against Watford in the fourth round of the Adobe Women's FA Cup.

Elsewhere in the Women’s Championship, Charlton Athletic Women and Freya Godfrey head into Christmas in second place, trailing Birmingham City solely on goal difference, after equalising late on against Sheffield United

Araya Dennis featured for over an hour as Crystal Palace drew 1-1 with Reading in the Women’s Championship. The Eagles currently occupy fourth spot in the table.

Ipswich Town managed a massive Adobe Women's FA Cup upset against Championship side Lewes, with Ruby Doe scoring a spectacular strike in their 3-0 win.

The Tractor Girls will now face Godfrey and Charlton Athletic in the fourth round of the cup.

In the Premier League, Sambi Lokonga played for an hour in Luton Town’s away fixture against Bournemouth, which was tragically abandoned after Luton captain Tom Lockyer collapsed from a cardiac arrest.

Lockyer remains in hospital but is said to be alert and responsive.

In the Sky Bet Championship, it looked like Brooke Norton-Cuffy had given Millwall three points against Huddersfield Town with a close-range tap-in.

Norton-Cuffy's goal was all that separated the two sides until stoppage time, when Huddersfield were granted a late penalty. Delano Burgzorg converted from the spot to break hearts at the Den.

Our academy right back also played the full game against Championship leaders, Leicester City. After Millwall went ahead in the 10th minute through Tom Bradshaw, the Foxes staged a comeback to make it 3-1 before Millwall got a consolation second goal in stoppage time.

Charlie Patino featured twice for Swansea City last week, playing the first half in their 1-1 draw with Stoke City. Our academy midfielder also made a substitute appearance against Middlesborough on Saturday, but the late roll of the dice wasn't enough for the Swans to avoid a 2-1 loss.

In midweek, Alex Runarsson was in goal for Cardiff City during their narrow defeat against Birmingham City. The Bluebirds remain midtable going into the Christmas period.

After making a brief cameo against Inter Milan in the Champions League in midweek, Kieran Tierney played most of the tie against Real Betis in La Liga at the weekend.

The game ended 0-0, with Sociedad holding onto sixth place in the table.

Over in Ligue 1, Marquinhos was a 58th-minute substitute for Nantes in their 2-0 loss to Brest. The midtable side have one more league match before the Christmas break, away to Lyon on Wednesday.

Elsewhere in Europe, Catalin Cirjan played almost an hour for FC Rapid Bucuresti in a goalless draw with Petrolul Ploiesti. They remain fourth in the Romanian SuperLig.

North of the border, Mika Biereth played for 87 minutes as Motherwell took on St. Mirren but was unable to make an impact and the game finished goalless.

Tyreece John-Jules came off the bench for Derby County in their tie with Wycombe Wanderers in League One, which ended 1-1 after late drama from the penalty spot.

Young Gunner Billy Vigar was involved in the full 90 minutes in Eastbourne Borough’s 2-0 win over Welling United in National League South.

Over in Premier League 2, Southampton U21s snatched a win late on against Derby County after Henry Jeffcott unfortunately put the ball in his own net in an attempted goalline clearance.
