Interview

Little: "We didn't get it right today"

After tonight's tough defeat to Chelsea in the Barclays Women's Super League, captain Kim Little shared her thoughts about the performance.

Here is everything she had to say:

on what went wrong this evening...

It's obviously tough. We're really disappointed with our performance and the result. I don't think it was good enough, especially in the first half. We have to review it and look at the different elements, whether it's tactically or just how forceful and physical we were with them. I think those were elements that we needed to be better at.

on whether our better second-half performance came too late...

I think so. Going 3-0 down to a team like Chelsea, to come back from that is going to be incredibly hard. We had belief and we kept trying, and we had some good opportunities and some nice play in the second half. But ultimately, that doesn't matter. We can't have a first half like we did, and expect to get anything from a game against a team like that.

on our 6,000 travelling supporters...

It's incredible the support we've had here tonight at Stamford Bridge, but that's been true throughout the season at the Emirates and at all of our away games. We're incredibly proud to represent this club and the fans. We'll come back again stronger and make sure we end the rest of the season in the right way.

on facing Chelsea again in two weeks for the Conti Cup final...

We're always up for that game and any game against Chelsea. Sometimes, you don't get it quite right and we didn't today. We will try and do all we can to make sure we get it right against Chelsea in the next game.
