Leo on Brentford win and Saka chemistry

Leo interview

Leandro Trossard almost had his name on the scoresheet in Saturday’s win at Brentford, but he was ultimately satisfied with the three points.

“It was a tough game,” he told Arsenal.com, reflecting on the 1-0 victory. “It’s a shame that my goal was ruled out for offside, otherwise I think we’d have been in a better position, but it was a great winner from Kai for us and I’m happy with the three points.

“We have belief. We know that a goal can be scored in the 90th minute of a game. With the extra time now added on in every game, we play longer and you need to be focusing on those minutes. We’ve scored a lot of goals already this season in the last 10-15 minutes, so there is where you can decide games.

“I played in the left pocket and I enjoy playing every where up front to be honest. It doesn’t really matter to me. I am just happy that we got the win at the end and can look forward to the next game.”

Leo Saka.

Much has been made of the chemistry between Bukayo Saka and Leo, given that all of Trossard’s Arsenal goals have been assisted by Saka.

“I get along with B really well,” Leo said. “It’s not that I ignore passes from other players, it’s just a coincidence, but I always try to get in the right positions and it’s B who sets up my goals. I’m sure there will be someone else in the next games or I will be assisting other players.

“The character, B is such a lovely guy and always down to earth. You can speak to him about everything. It’s nice chatting to him.”

So how does Leo feel he has settled into life at Arsenal now that we’re coming up to the end of his first year at the club?

“I’m really enjoying it. I think I settled in pretty quickly. It’s a great team and they help you from the first day and try to get you involved in everything. That makes it so much easier to settle in and feel welcome.”
