Lacazette - Why France could go all the way

They’re among the favourites to win the 2018 World Cup in Russia - so it’s no wonder Alexandre Lacazette is confident that France can win the trophy for the second time.

Les Bleus lead Group A by a point with two games to play and could seal their place at next summer’s tournament with a win over Bulgaria on Saturday.

“We have to qualify first before we start talking about Russia,” Lacazette said. “I hope I will have a role in the team.

“For now I'm in the squad and I just hope to be one of those selected to play in a match and go as far a I can.

We have a lot of young talented players as well as a group of very established players. That's a great combination that could help us to go a long way in Russia.

I know that playing well at Arsenal improves my chances with the French team and vice versa. If I play well for the French team, then the the boss is pleased so it's a win-win situation.”
