Interview

Lacasse: "I'm happy my chant is stuck in my head!"

Cloe Lacasse was delighted with an "incredible night" at the King Power Stadium after we staged a second-half comeback against Leicester City in the Women's Super League.

"At half-time, we knew that we had to have this big second half," said Lacasse. "Once we had that first goal, momentum just swung our way and we were just able to really put in the back of the net."

"On this team, we just have so much talent right? From the starting XI to the bench, we have so much talent, so we knew that we could bring so much more in the second half.

"And once we got that first goal, the confidence just started to build and then we were able to put six away. So it's an incredible night for us to turn it around."

It was Lacasse who kickstarted our comeback with the first goal in the 49th minute. As Caitlin Foord switched the play with an insightful pass, our Canadian forward shrugged off the last Leicester defender with ease before slotting the ball past the keeper.

"I just think sometimes a goal doesn't have to be pretty, it doesn't have to be beautiful. Those gritty goals, they count so we'll take those gritty goals any day. I'm just glad I was able to contribute and help the team today and get that victory."

The incredible away support at the King Power was in full voice all evening as we turned the game around and the latest chant for Lacasse hasn't gone unnoticed or unappreciated.

"I've heard it, let me tell you! My Twitter has been exploding about the song. It's incredible, it's been stuck in my head as well. So thanks to the fans!

"I've felt at home here since I arrived and having that chant is just incredible. I'm happy to be here and I'm happy to have that chant stuck in my head."
