Jonas Eidevall has shared his thoughts on Manuela Zinsberger’s new contract, rumours surrounding Lia Walti, and the plan for Gio.
Regarding the new deal for our shot-stopper, as Manu put pen to paper on a new contract on Friday morning, Jonas was delighted to get it done.
“I think Manu has been very good for us, both on the pitch with her footballing abilities, but also as a leader in the group and as a person setting really high standards, both for herself and for the team,” he said.
“I’m really happy about having her as a part of the goalkeeping team going forward.”
Regarding the January transfer window, amid rumours circulating that Lia Walti could move away from the club, Jonas was quick to put those to bed.
“I would say that the Lia Walti rumour that she could potentially be leaving definitely falls under the category of no truth whatsoever,” he said. “It's a player we are very happy with.
“I think she's very happy at the club as well. So, I understand it's hard for supporters when you read things like that to understand if there is truth in it or not. But this one here, definitely not.”
In his pre-Everton press conference, Jonas was also asked what the plan is regarding Gio Queiroz, who spent last season on loan with the Toffees but hasn’t featured for us this term.
“She still needs game time,” Jonas said. “That’s really important for her to develop and take the next step so that’s definitely (the plan).”
