Internationals: Goals for Odegaard and Trossard

Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard were both on the scoresheet during Tuesday’s UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Martin scored the second goal of the game as Norway beat Georgia 2-1, smashing the ball into the bottom right corner on his left foot.

Norway are now third in Group A, two points behind Spain.

Leandro showed excellent footwork and finishing for his goal in Belgium’s 5-0 win at home to Estonia.

Belgium are joint top of Group F on 13 points with Austria, but with a better goal difference. Karl Hein played 90 minutes of that match for the visitors and Estonia are bottom of the group with one point from five games.

Kai Havertz and William Saliba went head-to-head as Germany beat France 2-1 in an international friendly on Tuesday. William played the full 90 minutes, while Havertz came on in the 64th minute and registered an assist for Leroy Sane’s 87th minute goal.

In World Cup qualifying action, Brazil beat Peru 1-0 away from home and we had three Gunners involved. Gabriel kept a clean sheet as he played the full 90 minutes in what was his second cap, while Gabriel Jesus came on in the 64th minute and Gabriel Martinelli entered the fray in the 85th.

Brazil are joint top of the qualifying group with Argentina but have a better goal difference.

England and Scotland also took part in an international friendly, celebrating the 150th anniversary of football’s oldest fixture and the Three Lions were the ones celebrating in the end, after winning 3-1 courtesy of goals from Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane.

Aaron Ramsdale played 90 minutes in goal, while Bukayo Saka came on in the 71st minute. Eddie Nketiah was an unused substitute as he still awaits his first full international cap.

For Ukraine, Oleksandr Zinchenko played 75 minutes of their 2-1 defeat away to Italy. Ukraine are third in Group C of the UEFA Euro Qualifiers, level on points with Italy and North Macedonia in second and fourth respectively.

Takehiro Tomiyasu came on in the 79th minute of Japan’s 4-2 friendly win against Turkey, and David Raya was an unused substitute as Spain put six past Cyprus without reply in the UEFA Euro Qualifiers.
