Internationals: Evans and Little on target

Lisa Evans in action for Scotland

We had seven Gunners in international action on Tuesday night.

Scroll down to find out how they got on:

Kim Little and Lisa Evans both scored in their Women’s World Cup qualifier for Scotland, as they overturned a two-goal deficit against Poland to win 3-2.

An early strike from Dzesika Jaszek and an own goal from Sophie Howard handed the hosts a 2-0 lead, but Little’s free-kick in the 78th minute turned the game on its head. Jane Ross levelled the scores three minutes later, before Evans broke free in the box and fired home in injury time to complete the comeback. Shelley Kerr’s side have now recorded 15 points from six games in Group Two.

Elsewhere, Dominique Janssen and Sari Van Veenendaal played the entirety of the Netherlands' 1-0 win over Slovakia. Lieke Martens scored deep into stoppage time to secure all three points, helping Sarina Wiegman’s side to extend their lead at the top of Group Three to four points.

Katie McCabe captained the Republic of Ireland in their 1-0 defeat to Norway. Louise Quinn also played the duration of the fixture, with Caroline Graham Hansen’s penalty in the 25th minute proving to be the difference. Colin Bell’s side remain in third place in Group Three, just five points behind Norway.

Finally, our new signing, Viktoria Schnaderbeck, captained and played all 90 minutes of Austria’s 6-0 win over Israel. Katharina Schiechtl broke the deadlock in the fifth minute, before Carina Wenninger, Nicole Billa, Sarah Puntigam, Verena Aschauer and Laura Feiersinger worked their way onto the scoresheet. Austria have taken their tally to 13 points in Group Seven, just three points ahead of third-placed Finland.
