Gold Cup: US and Canada continue winning start

Emily Fox in action for the US Women's National Team

The United States and Canada are off to a flying start in the inaugural Women's Gold Cup, with respective wins at the weekend to secure a place in the knockouts.

Emily Fox featured for the last 30 minutes as the USWNT hit four past Argentina in their second group-stage match, with Jaedyn Shaw, Alex Morgan and Lindsay Horan all on the scoresheet.

USA have one more game to play against Mexico (February 27) before the competition quarter-finals in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Cloe Lacasse started and played the first half for Canada as they also cruised to a 4-0 win over Paraguay.

Aston Villa's Adriana Leon continued her fine goalscoring form with a hat-trick and 19-year-old Olivia Smith scored her second-ever goal for Canada to round off the victory. The Canadians are back in action against Costa Rica on February 28.
