Ahead of Sunday's north London derby, Jonas Eidevall has revealed that Vivianne Miedema is to undergo minor knee surgery.
The Dutch forward, who recently joined up with the Netherlands for the February international break, will be sidelined for several weeks.
"We will have an update on [her fitness] after the surgery and when we see how she's progressing," said Eidevall in his pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference, as he confirmed that Miedema will not be available for the fixture.
England captain Leah Williamson recently withdrew from the Lionesses' camp with a minor hamstring injury, but our head coach said there was a possibility she would see minutes at the weekend.
"Leah is progressing really well. Because it's a muscle injury, we need to be cautious and take every step well but she is progressing well and she's very much in contention for Sunday."
There was more positive news to share about Miedema's Dutch teammate Victoria Pelova, who is progressing well after suffering a muscle injury last time out against Manchester United.
Eidevall confirmed that Katie McCabe was also "progressing well" after coming off with a knock in Ireland's clash with Wales and following an absence due to illness, Amanda Ilestedt returned to the squad this week.
"Amanda is back with us now but the game on Sunday will come too early for her."
Ilestedt's fellow Swede Lina Hurtig has not yet returned to the squad this calendar year and there remains a lack of "clarity" on her recovery, said Eidevall.
"There is not any clarity on it, which makes that hard to predict when she will be able to return to play. Potentially, she won't return this season, but we don't know."
