One player who will be looking forward to heading to Everton more than anyone else this weekend with be Gabriel Jesus, and not just because of his late clincher against Manchester United last time out.
Our Brazilian striker got off the mark for the campaign against the Red Devils to secure our 3-1 victory before the international break, and despite enduring a long round-trip to South America to be in action for his country, he’ll head to Merseyside with a spring in his step.
That’s because Gabby has scored eight Premier League goals against the Toffees, which is more than he has against any other side. All of those came during his time at Manchester City, as he missed both of the encounters between us and Everton last season due to the knee injury he picked up at the World Cup.
He has also registered a goal or assist in each of his last seven games against Everton home and away, and as we go in search of our first win at Goodison Park since 2017, it is a venue that has been a fruitful one for him, as he had netted there in three of his five appearances, with his team coming away with three points on every occasion.
Should Gabby continue his good run against Everton and finds the back of the net during Sunday's contest, then the omens are certainly in our favour when it comes to collecting three points, as despite making debut in the division back in January 2017, the Brazilian striker has still never lost a Premier League game in which he’s scored in.
That means that out of the 57 matches he has scored in, he has won 52 of them whilst drawing the other five as helps to drive his side towards a positive result.
And should he hit the target, it is likely going to be down to his predatory instinct, as all 70 of his English top-flight goals have come from inside the 18-yard box.
