Sunday saw Bukayo Saka hit two personal milestones during our 6-0 win against West Ham United as he continues to make an impact in front of goal.
His gutsy penalty conversion in the first half at the London Stadium brought up 50 goals in our colours since he made his debut back in November 2018, and when completing his brace after the break he completed 100 goal involvements when you add in his 49 assists.
What makes Bukayo’s feat all the more remarkable is that he became the youngest player to complete a half-century of goals for us since Frank Stapleton in 1978, and put his name alongside other illustrious stars from our past:
Youngest players to score 50 competitive Arsenal goals:
- Cliff Bastin (19y 280d)
- Ray Kennedy (21y 22d)
- John Radford (21y 272d)
- Frank Stapleton (22y 110d)
- Bukayo Saka (22y 159d)
The Hale End graduate’s first strike came in Germany against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League in September 2019, and he has constantly improved his goal returns over the seasons too. Having hit double figures for the third season in a row, he is on track to surpass his best-ever tally of 15 in a campaign, which came last season.
