Player of the month

Bukayo Saka voted September's Player of the Month

Bukayo Saka has been voted by our supporters as our men’s Player of the Month for September.

The attacker played a major part in helping us take 10 points from a possible 12 in the Premier League as well as helping us beat PSV Eindhoven in our Champions League opener, by scoring or assisting in every one of our five games during the month.

That impressive form saw him receive 36 per cent of the votes ahead of fellow contenders Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard and William Saliba.

Bukayo’s excellent September began with him setting up Declan Rice’s crucial goal against Manchester United in our 3-1 win, and then provided the key pass for Trossard to strike against Everton.

The England international then kick-started our Champions League campaign by firing home our opener against PSV, as well as again assisting Trossard for our second of the 4-0 success.

He then got on the scoresheet again from the penalty spot in the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

The month was rounded off by heading home the first of our four goals against Bournemouth to take his seasonal tally to five goals and four assists before the start of October.

As well as his goal involvements, our Hale End graduate created 13 chances for his teammates, had six shots on target and made 145 successful passes. He was also influential in defence, winning seven tackles as well as recovering possession on 27 occasions.

It is the sixth time Bukayo has won our club monthly award, and the first since December 2022.
