Blackstenius and Hurtig receive World Cup call ups

Stina Blackstenius and Lina Hurtig celebrate a goal

Stina Blackstenius and Lina Hurtig will be representing Sweden at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, following the official squad announcement.

Our two forwards will be flying over to Australia and New Zealand for the biggest event in the international calendar later this month. Sweden's World Cup campaign kicks off on July 23 as they take on South Africa in Wellington and clashes against Italy and Argentina follow to determine who will top Group G.

Blackstenius has 90 senior caps for Sweden, scoring 28 goals for her country. Hurtig, who joined us last summer, has scored 20 times in 62 appearances. Both featured at the last World Cup back in 2019 where Sweden pipped England to third place.
