Beth Mead was named Women’s Player of the Year at the Football Supporters Federation Awards on Monday night.
With more than 366,000 votes cast, the FSF Awards are the largest supporter-led awards in the UK - and Mead topped the poll despite facing stiff competition.
She has scored three goals and assisted six times in the Women’s Super League this season, in addition to scoring twice on her full international debut for England in September.
“Since signing for Arsenal, Beth has established herself as a firm favourite amongst the Gunners’ faithful - terrorising opposition full backs with her pace and tenacity and turning goal-provider as well as goalscorer,” said Jen O’Neil, editor of She Kicks magazine.
Chelsea’s Fran Kirby finished as runner-up, while Remi Allen (Reading), Lucy Staniforth (Sunderland), Keira Walsh (Manchester City) and Ellen White (Birmingham) completed the shortlist.
