Ten of our players were in action for their respective countries during the international break.

Read on to find out how they performed:

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the winner from the spot as Gabon beat Libya 1-0 in their World Cup qualifier. Our skipper calmy dispatched a penalty in the 54th minute, but other results going against Gabon meant they failed to qualify for next year’s World Cup.

Mohamed Elneny scored for Egypt as they drew 2-2 with Angola in their World Cup qualifier. Our midfielder sparked Egypt’s comeback on the stroke of half-time with a composed first-time finish inside the box from Mohamed Salah’s assist.

Kieran Tierney played 90 minutes as Scotland secured a World Cup play-off spot with a 2-0 win over Moldova. Our defender produced a remarkable challenge to deny Moldova a certain goal after Craig Gordon saved a late penalty during a dramatic finish to the match.

Folarin Balogun scored his first goal for England Under-21s as they beat Czech Republic 3-1 in their European Under-21 Championship qualifier. Our young striker notched the Three Lions’ third of the game 10 minutes before half-time with a well-taken finish into the bottom corner.

Emile Smith Rowe made his senior debut for England as he came off the bench in the 77th minute of the Three Lions' 5-0 win over Albania in their World Cup qualifier. Our Hale End graduate was given a rapturous reception as he took to the pitch and looked sharp in the closing stages at Wembley. Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale were unused subs.

Sead Kolasinac had to be substituted in the 39th minute as Bosnia and Herzegovina lost 3-1 to Finland in their World Cup qualifier. Our left-back was forced off with an ankle injury after a red-card challenge from Jukka Raitala.

Takehiro Tomiyasu played centre-back and helped Japan keep a clean sheet as they beat Vietnam 1-0 in their World Cup qualifier.

Nuno Tavares was involved for 90 minutes for Portugal Under-21s as they beat Cyprus 1-0 in their European Under-21 Championship qualifier.

Martin Odegaard captained Norway as they drew 0-0 with Latvia in their World Cup qualifier.

Nicolas Pepe came off the bench with 20 minutes to go as Ivory Coast beat Mozambique 3-0 in their World Cup qualifier.
