Arteta up for October's Manager of the Month award

Mikel Arteta Premier League Manager of the Month

For the third straight time this season, Mikel Arteta has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award.

Our fine form in October, which saw us win two and draw once to maintain our unbeaten start, has seen the boss included on a four-man shortlist for the prize, with supporters’ votes being taken into account when selecting the winner.

Mikel’s strong month began when we beat Manchester City 1-0 at Emirates Stadium thanks to Gabriel Martinelli’s late strike, and then after the international break we recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Chelsea.

We rounded off October by thrashing Sheffield United 5-0 to remain second in the table, and are one of two sides who have yet to be beaten this term.

The other is Tottenham Hotspur, for whom Ange Postecoglu has picked up the prize for each of the opening two months of the season, and could make it a hat-trick of successes as he is also on the shortlist having guided Spurs to wins over Luton Town, Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Unai Emery of Aston Villa are the other options, after they, like Mikel, took seven points from their three games in October and currently occupy spots in the top five of the table.

You can vote for Mikel now until Monday, November 6 at midday UK time, while you can also select Declan Rice as the Player of the Month.
