The Arsenal Foundation has been recognised for its role in the relief efforts in the aftermath of the earthquake that hit Turkey and northern Syria in February earlier this year.
The Foundation and its partners throughout the response – the Turkish Cypriot Community Association, Cyprus Islamic Association, Turkish Police Association, and HIS Church – have collectively won the Third Sector Charity Partnership of the Year Award.
The Foundation worked closely with these groups to ensure a quick response to the disaster, including funding 1,500 sleeping bags.
Following the award win, Head of Arsenal in the Community, Freddie Hudson, spoke about working with our local partners: "We have very close links with the local Turkish community and supporter base around north London, and worked closely with them and other Turkish Cypriot community groups to ensure a quick response during their country’s time of need.
"We are grateful to our longstanding partnership with His Church which enabled a nimble response to the request for sleeping bags. We are proud to see these efforts recognised with this award, and want to thank our fellow partners and the community for their close collaboration during this time.”
