Arsenal Ladies moved to within four points of Premier League leaders Sunderland with a 2-1 win over Chelsea at the weekend.
Tony Gervaise's team still have six games in hand on Sunderland and were the dominant side when they hosted Chelsea on Sunday.
Chances were few and far between but Gemma Davison gave the Gunners a 56th-minute lead when she burst through the midfield. She skipped beyond the Chelsea backline and slotted into the back of the net.
Danielle Carter extended the lead nine minutes from time after Kim Little played a defence-splitting ball for Carter to calmly put beyond the Chelsea keeper.
The visitors ensured a tense finish with six minutes remaining when Lianne Sanderson netted against her former club.
