last two years, repeated their 11-1 league cup victory over
Newquay, With Lianne Sanderson contributing four goals, with two
each for Jayne Ludlow and Ciara Grant and singles for Gemma Davison
and Rachel Yankey.
Mary Phillip added a penalty late on ensuring she grabbed her
first goal for the club since joining four seasons ago.
Newquay however got a late consolation when Helen Wood also
netted from the spot.
Arsenal beat Charlton 4-1 in last years final at Nottingham
Forest who themselves were put out at after a 3-0 defeat to the
hands of Fulham LFC.
Arsenal return to league action this Sunday with a away trip up
to Leeds Utd, being the first time the two sides would have
encountered each other this season.
