Arsenal Ladies bounced back from their Women's League Cup
Final defeat to cement their position at the top of the Premier
League table with a convincing win at Leeds United.
Everton's shock win on Thursday ended Arsenal's hopes of
a domestic treble but they remain on course for the double after
seeing off the Yorkshire side.
Arsenal capitalised on a number of defensive errors to open up a
three-goal lead by half time. England winger Rachel Yankey opened
the scoring before Lianne Sanderson netted twice to take her
season's tally to 31 goals in all competitions.
Leeds were more competitive after the break but Julie Fleeting
headed home Arsenal's fourth after a slick breakaway.
Vic Akers' side are now seven points clear of Bristol
Academy at the top of the table and have four games in hand on
their closest rivals.
