Arsenal took a giant step towards another Premier League title
with a 3-0 victory against Charlton Athletic on Thursday night.
Vic Akers' side were kept at bay in the first half but
finally made the breakthrough when Lianne Sanderson netted 11
minutes after the break.
Scotland captain Julie Fleeting gave the champions a two-goal
cushion with 15 minutes left and captain Jayne Ludlow added a third
in stoppage time.
Arsenal are now 11 points clear of Charlton at the top of the
Premier League, although the champions have played two games more
than their London rivals.
