Arsenal Ladies stormed into the Sixth Round of the FA
Women's Cup with an emphatic win against Reading.

The holders booked their place in the last eight of the
competition thanks to four goals apiece for Lianne Sanderson and
her strike partner Gemma Davison.

Jayne Ludlow (2), Anita Asante, Gill Flaherty, Rachel Yankey and
Sian Larkin were also on target for a weakened Arsenal side.

Vic Akers' side were in cruise control throughout the tie
but there was a moment to savour for Reading when Natasha
Caswell's long-range effort gave the Southern Division side a
late consolation.

Despite being outclassed for much of the game, Reading had the
first chance after five minutes. Emma Byrne kept the Royals at bay
on that occasion and was barely troubled afterwards as Arsenal took
command.

Sanderson's unstoppable finish gave Akers' side the lead
a minute later and they led 8-0 at the break, Asante rounding off a
one-sided first half with a rare goal.

Byrne, Ludlow and Ciara Grant made way at half-time as Akers
gave some valuable match time to his fringe players. Gilly Flaherty
marked her third appearance for Arsenal with a well-timed header
after 48 minutes.

The holders ended the game with 10 players after Danielle Buett
limped off with an injury and Reading took advantage of their
numerical advantage to set up a consolation goal for Caswell.

Arsenal will now play Birmingham City in the Quarter Finals on
Sunday, February 11 at 12pm. This match will be played at Boreham
Wood FC.
