Tom Parker was one of the first significant signings made by Herbert Chapman.
He was the Club captain during the glory years of the 1930s and skippered the team to their first trophy, the FA Cup, in 1930.
The following season, Parker led the Gunners to the Division One title for the very first time.
The right back, a penalty expert, joined from Southampton for £3,250 in March 1926 after beginning his career with the Hampshire club.
He would go on to play 294 times at Highbury, scoring 17 times. Parker also holds the record for the most consecutive games for the Gunners - 172 from April 3, 1926 to December 26, 1929. The ever-present full back missed only six matches in seven seasons.
The defender remained with the Club until his appointment as manager of Norwich City in March 1933.
Parker became manager of former club Southampton in 1937 and worked for the Ministry of Transport during the Second World War. He enjoyed another spell as manager of Norwich again in 1955 before becoming chief scout back at Southampton.
He died in November 1987.
