Reg Boreham

Reg Boreham joined Arsenal from Wycombe Wanderers as an amateur in June 1921.

Signed by Leslie Knighton under Sir Henry Norris' strict transfer rules, the inside left played 53 times in four seasons at the Club, scoring 18 goals.

Boreham, an England amateur international, made his league debut in a 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers in December 1921 and was a regular in his first season, playing 22 times.

He added to his 10 goals with another eight in the 1922/23 campaign, appearing 27 times as Arsenal finished 11th in Division Two.

Boreham lost his place the following season, however, and after two seasons out of the frame had his contract cancelled in May 1925.

He became Wycombe's secretary, a position he held from 1937 to 1950.
